Good morning. Hope all is having a great weekend after new years! I am restarting my Oceanic Biocube 14 since in the not so long ago past my tank had degraded due to a water pump failure amognst other things. I stopped by the Reef Chief store and purchase a piece of new live rock/water/waterpump/sand. I want to say thank you to I believe it was Jeff that gave me a piece of plastic filter media to replace what i've lost ( I appreciate it!!!) I've taken a few pictures of what i've done so far and I am always open to learn more. I also talked to another gentleman about possible mods that I could do for filtration. They are definitely someting i'm interested in doing but for now i'm going to let the tank cycle and reestablish itself. In otherwords i'm going to take my time vice before I was all too excited Big smile Let me know what y'all think!

thanks

Smile Appreciate the reply. Got some microbubbles coming in need to do something like add more live rock rubble or something to the center chamber to get rid of them. Other than that so far so good and "can't wait" to get things back up where it once was. Going to take my sweet time, lol! Have a few of the tri-color hermits that survived the last tank so they are hard at work eating away at whatever they are finding.

thanks!

Thanks everyone for the input. I recently (a few hours ago) completed a mod that seems to be working great. Took advice from a fellow reefer that I met at reef chief and went ahead and did it. I placed a aquaclear 20 powerfilter in the tank and cut the hood appropriately to allow for the filter to fit. Take note that i've been having ALOT of issues with keeping the water levels high enough for the return pump (maxijett 600). Because of that issue I cut the 1st chamber across to provide more water flow to the 2nd and 3rd chambers to support the power filter and the return pump. I am hoping that this does not cause a major issue in regards to the originial wet/dry filter the biocube offers. Here's the current setup in summary:

1st Chamber (Live Rock Rubble)
2nd Chamber (Aquaclear power filter and water heater)
3rd Chamber (MaxiJet 600 & Phosophate remover)

Let me know what you think and i'll see about getting updated photos!
