So i was looking at one of my millis and noticed it had some pale spots on it, so i took the camera and snapped some shots of random corals through the tank and I found another one that looks much worse.. Anyhow can anyone tell me if this is normal or if somethings going on that i havent experienced before.

Thanks for any help
Jeff

Possibly AEFW (acro eating

Possibly AEFW (acro eating flat worms) just a suggestion, i would google it.

*My Tanks
My father and I have a 1,000gal. system, that includes: 375, 175 ,125, 75, 3-33, and 30 gallon aquariums. With a 125 and 55gal. sump, which are two separte tanks that are joined together. We also have a 150gal. tank as its own aquarium.

Trading

Been doing any trading lately? I did some local trading with a few different hobbyist a year or so ago. Well even after a dip, some AEFW's got through. Wiped out about $1500.00 worth of frags and a few colonies, before I could finally just start throwing stuff away.. Systems are freakin absolutely clean now, as I am sure you can tell. I am also OCD like a mofo about them. I don't take any acro, unless I look at it with a magnifying glass and give it A TEA COLORED DIP. and then still QT it for a while.
It does look like AEFW's. Damn man, if it is, your in deep doodoo. Bring the colony in tomorrow and I can tell you right away.

Having a seemingly unreachable vision. Working extremely arduous against all odds. Embracing and protecting the vision turned reality. Living the dream.
Life is not so bad after all.

Sorry havent replied in a few

Sorry havent replied in a few days, but yeah they are AEFW. Spent a whole day setting up my QT and dip tanks, then went through my DT and pulled every acro out i had (which was alot since thats my primary choice of coral) then i soaked them and blew the aefw off with a powerhead and shook the daylights out of them to get all i could off. After that i went with the magnifing glass and looked for any hangers and got them off and scrapped all the eggs off i could find. Once done with that a quick few dips in fresh salt water and off into my QT.

So my plan now is to do a weekly dip for a month and continue monitoring them in the QT for 2-3 months, hopefully this will give any left over in the DT time to die off.

On your comment Jeff, yeah i had just done some trading a few weeks ago, think this is how i got them. I know better than not to QT but silly me i just rolled with it when i got them home. Never fails, I've had red bugs twice, and now these lil turds, you would think i would have learned my lesson by now Sad Just goes to show ya you cant trust what you get even if its local. But as i stated, its my bust for not QT'n.

On the plus side of all my acros, i think i might just end up losing 2, they are small frags that i havent had for long, all the ones i've had for a couple of years now seemed to do well with the dip and scrubbing so I'm keeping my fingers crossed Smile

On a side note, my QT is a 30gal breeder, right now i got my outer orbit fixture on it running the 4 T5s, will this be enuf light for the duration of my QT? It has 2 250w MH in the fixture too, but I am a bit nervous of using them, afraid i'll end up cooking them if i use it.. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jeff
