anyone ever owned or cared for a file fish of any type. i like the tassle species the best i think. was possibly considering adding it to my 75 gallon. right now only other fish are a maroon clown, blue eyed kole tang, and a coral beauty.

or a tang, i love the sailfin

or a tang, i love the sailfin tang but i know that needs probably more than a 75 for swimming room, blue hippos are always nice, orange shoulder tang too. tank size requirements and coral eating seem to knock off 90 % of the fish that look cool

Tangs in a75g

I am not a tang Nazi, so if I had a 75g I would put a tang in it. I know people who have had multiple tangs in a 75g tank. Yes they need room because they are territorial and like to swim around. Sailfin's can be mean along with clown tangs. But if you only have the one tang i think you would be fine having one. As far as fish eating corals that is hit or miss. My sailfin likes to eat my gorgonians even though I put plenty of nori in there for him and my chocolate tang.

Ive got a orange shoulder

Ive got a orange shoulder tang and he doesnt bother anyone. I also have a Sailfin and Scopas tang, which like to be bullies to new fish. I have a great looking Hippo tang, but his drawback is that he loves to eat my open brain coral, so i have to keepit covered with egg crate. So you can keep tangs together, but you never really know what fish will eat coral. I had a tiger Cowrie eating my bubble coral yesterday, so u never know

This has to be in the top TEN, of my most favorite post. So true. Thank You!
People always ask me, "Is this fish reef safe?" My answer is, "There is not a reef safe fish in this store". I also tell them that every system in here (not copper treated) has Crypt in it. Talk about confused.
